LIFT - Learning Instrumental Foundational Techniques.

LIFT's purpose is to teach student musicians from across the Anchorage School District how to better play their instrument from experts on their instrument. Once a week master classes will be given by ASD music teachers, professional musicians, UAA music majors, UAA professors and Community Musicians on Wednesday evenings at Bettye Davis East High School from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on the following dates:.

High School Students - August 27, September 3rd, 10th and 17th.

Middle School Students 7th & 8th Grade - September 24th, October 1st, 8th and 15th.

Experts on their instruments will work with students of that instrument. Students will work in a group setting and have one-on-on pull out sessions. We want to help students LIFT their musical knowledge and playing ability. 6th graders and students who are new to their instrument need to complete a year of classroom music before attending LIFT.
