LIFT Program FAQ's

When Is The LIFT Program:
High School Students - August 27, September 3rd, 10th and 17th.

Middle School Students 7th & 8th Grade - September 24th, October 1st, 8th and 15th.

from 5:30 to 7:00 at Bettye Davis East Anchorage High School.


Is There Any Cost:
No. There is no cost for participation in the program.


What Instruments Will Be Taught:
All Woodwind, Brass, String and Percussion Instruments will be taught. A list of the instruments and instructors registered to teach by date is available Here


How Do I Register for The LIFT Program:
If you are a student, click HERE to fill out the Google form for the dates you would like to attend.

If you are an ASD Teacher, Professional Musician, Expert Community Musician or UAA Student or Professor, Click HERE to fill out the Google Form for the days you are available to teach.


Who Will Be Teaching the LIFT Program:
ASD Music Teachers, Anchorage Symphony Orchestra Members, UAA Music Majors, UAA Music Professors and Expert community musicians. All instructors will have completed the ASD background check and vetting process.


Will There Be Transportation:
Transportation is currently being worked on. Any updates can be found on the transportation page found HERE.


When Do I Do My Homework:
Students who arrive at Bettye Davis East before 5:30 will have the oportunity to work on homework in the commons. Tutors will be available to help with any homework questions and snacks will be provided.


Will I Need To Bring My Own Instrument:
Yes, you will need to bring your own instrument. There are a Limited number of district instruments available. Please let us know if you will need an instrument on the Google Student Registration Form A district instrument is not guaranteed and we will communicate with you if we have an instrument for you.
